There was much talk about Rymkiewicz last fall. His volume titled Zachód słońca w Milanówku / Sunset in Milanowek, one of the finalists for this year's NIKE Literary Prize, caused an uproar. Many people had discovered a new poet for themselves. Now, with the appearance of the author's own selection of his poems titled Cicho ciszej / Quiet, Quieter, they can sample some of his earlier writings.
This volume retraces the poetic path of one of Poland's most interesting contemporary poets, a writer who was this year nominated for both the Nike Literary Prize and the Józef Mackiewicz Award (more...). The volume opens with one of the most famous programmatic poems in Polish poetry - Czym jest klasycyzm (What is Classicism). It closes with Ogród w Milanowku - poezja brzoz i kotow (The Garden in Milanowek - Poetry on Birches and Cats) - a poem characteristic of Rymkiewicz's most recent creative period.
The book is accompanied by a CD containing recordings of Jaroslaw Marek Rymkiewicz reading a number of poems of his own selection.
