The language of Tkaczyszyn-Dycki's poems - sometimes archaic, sometimes coloured by regional dialect, occasionally coarse but sometimes tender - is unique in contemporary Polish poetry...
Birth and death make frequent appearances in Tkaczyszyn-Dycki's poetry and are always present so that everything which could possibly take place between these two points in time almost seems to be in brackets. But it is precisely that which is in the brackets which we wish to speak and hear of. Thus Dycki (b. 1962) shows us in particularly succinct poems with a regular form, and in a manner which corresponds to the final context, our clumsy attempts to experience beauty, love and peace of mind or simply a short period of relief. The language of his poems - sometimes archaic, sometimes coloured by regional dialect, occasionally coarse but sometimes tender - is unique in contemporary Polish poetry.
