Mirella von Chrupek was born in 1980 in Łódź, an industrial town in the center of Poland. She grew up in one of the grey block of flats in Widzew district. She had a wonderful childhood filled with happiness and love. She collects dolls and toys. She captures their lives through lenses and create alternative miniworlds for them.

Grzegorz Cholewiak, born 1978 in Tarnów (a city in southeastern Poland), graduated from the Faculty of Industrial Design at Krakow's Academy of Fine Arts. He also received scholarships to study at the University of Technology in Lahti (Finland) and at the Academy of Fine Arts in Ljubljana (Slovenia). He lives and works in Berlin, where he leads Drache & Bär Studio.
