Until 1992 Henryk Mikołaj Górecki had remained recognized only by a small group of the contemporary music’s connoisseurs. The situation changed immeasurably when his Third Symphony (the Symphony of Sorrowful Songs) was released by Nonesuch. On the fifth anniversary of the composer’s death the American publisher reminded us about Górecki’s works.

Henryk Mikołaj Górecki's Symphony No. 4 (Tansman Episodes), will be played on 15th February in Łódź Philharmonic. It will be the Polish premiere of this piece, which, after the composer’s death, was finished by his son Mikołaj. The world premiere took place in London in April 2014.
