Józef Robakowski's experimental video works, centered on avant-garde traditions of the 1960s and '70s, trace back to first stirrings in media research that have since become a pillar of contemporary artistic practice. This avant-garde throwback then sets the stage for works by Polish artists of the young generation, from two of Warsaw's most dynamic art galleries.

These raw, startling images represent the struggles of everyday people within the harrowing conditions of the Warsaw Ghetto, represented by such drawings as Funeral Fund, portraying a public collection of funds on behalf of a young boy found dead in the street to pay for his funeral.Other images show children apprehended by police for stealing food and the sick being transported by civilians to hospitals.
