The actors of Teatr Biuro Podróży theatre company share their skills and experiences during a special workshop session addressed to older kids (11-13 years old)
The troupe travelled the globe presenting their futuristic out-door performance"Planet Lem" in 8 different capitals around Europe. The world tour of Planet Lem launches on the very first day of the Polish Presidency, with the London showing on the 1st of July, 2011 as part of the annual Watch This Space Festival. Co-produced by the Adam Mickiewicz Institute, showings by Teatr Biuro Podróży are scheduled in Brussels, Paris, London, Berlin, Madrid, Moscow and Kiev, in cooperation with local partners, Polish Institutes and Embassies of Poland.
The performance is inspired by Stanisław Lem's fiction, his unique, witty and poignant diagnosis of the contemporary world, and his reflection on the relations between technological progress and limitations of the human race. At Zachęta, it becomes the basis for a practical theatre exercise that is both fun and educational. Young participants have the chance to learn basic performative techniques, create a script and stage a study-scene based on the writings of one of the world's most accomplished Science Fiction writers.
