During the 15th China Digital Entertainment Expo and Conference (ChinaJoy), China’s largest gaming and digital entertainment exhibition held annually in late July in Shanghai, Polish developers will present their products to Asian gamers. It will be the first such extensive presentation of the Polish video game industry behind the Great Wall.
The joint Polish stand at the ChinaJoy is the result of collaboration between the Indie Games Poland Foundation, the Adam Mickiewicz Institute and the Polish Institute in Beijing. In the recruitment process the representatives of the three organisers selected 16 games to be showcased at the stand after their Chinese localisation is prepared. Chinese gamers, who have already grown fond of the award-winning game This War of Mine developed and published by 11 bit studios will surely enjoy the same developer’s latest production Frostpunk featured among other games at the Polish stand.
Virtual Reality (VR) games, such as Regenesis Arcade by HyperVR studio allowing players to immerse in a futuristic world ruled by different robot races, are expected to arouse huge interest among the exhibition visitors.
The Polish stand at the ChinaJoy also provides an opportunity to present the achievements of smaller game development companies (gamedev), such as the three-person WarSaw studio, who will showcase their dark fairy tale platform game Dream Alone published by Fat Dog Games.
A part of the project will be also an industry event titled Polish Games – Creative Poland. Poland Meets China organised by the Polish Institute in Beijing, the Consulate General of the Republic of Poland in Shanghai, the Indie Games Poland Foundation and the China Indie Games Association. The event will provide an opportunity to establish international friendships and business contacts. The participants will have a chance to see the exhibition Digital Dreamers presenting the achievements of the Polish video game industry.
It is worth mentioning that the stand organised on the initiative of the Indie Games Poland Foundation will not be the only Polish element at the 15th ChinaJoy. CD Projekt RED, a developer best known for their iconic The Witcher game series, will also be present at the show in Shanghai showcasing their new production Gwent: The Witcher Card Game.
The Polish stand at the 15th ChinaJoy can be visited at the Shanghai New International Expo Center, stand no. B908, BTOB Area. Opening hours:
