The aim of The Spirit of Poland is to promote Polish design on an international level. The first of this year’s exhibitions of The Spirit of Poland, prepared in cooperation with Culture.pl, is one of numerous events planned within the DW! São Paulo Design Weekend – South America’s greatest design festival. The programme includes more than 360 independent events.
In collaboration with MADE, a Brazilian forum promoting design, The Spirit of Poland will present 20 Polish products from design studios such as TAKK and PET PETITS, known for their jewellery, as well as MALAFOR and Tabanda, specialising in interior design. Studios which focus mainly on technological research and production will also feature - Zieta Prozessdesign, CSTM and Nobile, who specialize in new patents and unique technological solutions.
Some of the icons of Polish design will be presented in a new form during the DW! São Paulo Design Weekend, thanks to Vzór.
One particularly interesting concept to be presented is the development of a business model which closely relies on acting for the benefit of people at risk of social exclusion that characterises the brand of the WellDone® Foundation.
The Kafti lighting company as well as Kosmos Project will also be presented at the exhibition.
The Spirit of Poland is an exhibition which, by presenting the variety of Polish design, reveals the history and contemporary development of Polish material culture. This edition focuses on a specific context – the history of each of the brands, encouraging the user to not only familiarize themselves with the object but also with the process of its creation. A set of accompanying fragrances designed especially for the occasion is an additional feature of the exhibition.
The brands and designers participating in the exhibition are Agnieszka Bar, CUSTOM (CSTM), Designlab, Kafti, Kosmos Project, MALAFOR, MOA, Nobile, Pani Jurek, PET PETITS, Shima, Studio Robot, Tabanda, Takk, WellDone®, V4, Vzór and Zieta Prozessdesign.
