From April 2nd to the 22nd, 2005, the Stanislaw Moniuszko Grand Theatre in Poznan will host the fifth POLSKO-NIEMIECKI OPEROWY FESTIWAL HOFFMANNOWSKI / POLISH-GERMAN HOFFMANN OPERA FESTIVAL.
The festival's aims are to promote the figure and work of the German Romantic composer E.T.A. Hoffman and to produce staged works by and about him. Festival organizers also seek out and present instances of cooperation, joint action and mutual understanding between Germans and Poles in culture and the arts, an outstanding example of which was provided by E.T.A. Hoffmann during the "Polish period" of his creative life.
