ViviMotion brings the wildest figures of Poland’s young club music scene to the Bedroom Bar
The night features a gig of 3 sets experimental electronic DJs and performers. Daniel Drumz, Piotr Bejnar and Teielte perform, to an imaginative set of visuals prepared by the student group .wju.
With an innate love for hip-hop and spanning a range of genres from funk to soul, Daniel Drumz keeps audiences coming back for more since his emergence in Poland. Drumz is an accomplished turntablist, and has won accolades for his skills behind the decks, including the league title for the Vestax POPDJ 2003. Drumz is also an established producer. His EP Sleepless State Of Mind is out now on U Know Me Records. More about Daniel Drumz…
Definitely one of the most eccentric figures of the Polish clubbing scene, Piotr Bejnar is a producer, live performer, DJ and a cultural animator. By the age of 16, Bejnar was fascinated with mathematical distribution in music. In his sets he experiments with various novice live performance techniques, presenting a generous spectrum of sounds. He is drawn to specific "sonic gems" from various styles of electronic music and his wide-ranging taste has led him to participate in many cultural events, not necessarily dance-related.
Bejnar's performances are unlike the usual live acts associated with performing from a laptop… in fact they're very different. They are live improvisations to which Bejnar invites the audience, which literally generates the sounds together with him. The story goes back to a gig where Bejnar had no space to place his MIDI controller and had to play with it in his hands. Since that night, his friends and fans bestowed him the titles the "Modern Talking" DJ, "Wizard from Korgland" and "Unstoppable Korg Rider". The idea has evolved, Piotr has minimised his setup and begun to perform live holding his sampler while mixing it up with the crowds on the dancefloor.
Teilelte is a producer whose unmatched sound design stems from the intrinsic admiration for both hip-hop and modern electronic music. His tracks shine with multilayered structures riddled with gloomy bits and elements, all jogging on carefully executed broken beats. Teielte's 2010 debut album Hoeworkz launched the U Know Me label's catalogue and his latest, the Wooden Love EP, is gathering stunning reviews and feedback the world over. More about Teilelte…
.wju (pronounced "view") is a team of three students from the University of Fine Arts in Poznań. They mix techniques to build a multisensory and unique character for each party. .wju employ mapping, 3-D mapping, sculpture and installation, drawing mural paintings and building stages, in polymorphous wild performance.
The event is organised by the Polish Ad Arte Foundation, in collaboration with the Polish Cultural Institute in London.
