Photoville is a New York City based photography festival taking place in unusual quarters – the venue is built from re-possessed shipping containers and overlooks Manhattan. The event, which attracted 58,000 visitors last year, combines photography exhibitions, outdoor photo installations, talks, workshops and multimedia projections. This year, a turnout of around 80,000 visitors is expected.
The festival is organized by United Photo Industries, a Brooklyn-based organization promoting art through exhibitions, installations and events which seek new directions in contemporary photography. The founder Sam Barzilay is a former director of the New York Photo Festival.

Polish photographers will present their latest work at the event. Rafał Milach will show his In The Car with R, a sort of a visual journal from his trip to Iceland. Also, Adam Pańczuk’s internationally recognized Karczeby will be on display and Kacper Kowalski’s enigmatic and conceptual Waving will be revealed to the public.
In addition, slides from Bownik, Piotr Zbierski and Kuba Dąbrowski will be showcased at the festival.
The artists will be present at the festival and will be available to speak with the visitors on the second day of the event during author meetings. Works from Polish photographers will be showcased during the Polish Photography slides presentation.
