The Maison & Objet markets in Paris is where Polish designers will present their contributions to Scenes d’Interieur. During Paris Design Week, their works will be included in the sections Now! Le OFF 2013 – an open space featuring young, avant-garde designers – and Meet My Project, which promotes creative innovation.
In one of Paris Design Week's important sections, Now! Le OFF 2013, Paweł Grobelny will present Sur le fil, his original series of minimalist tables, in a group exhibition titled Sur le fil at the Centre for Design and Fashion - Les Dock-en Seine. Grobelny is known for innovative work on a project designing benches for public spaces in Brussels, and was nominated for the grand prize in the contest Radio Star Prize France 2013. That jury, headed by Japanese project designer Juna Yasumoto, considered 10 designers from around the world for the honorary award. Results will be announced at the Paris Design Week from the 9th to the 15th of September.
Another section at Paris Design Week that will have heavy Polish representation is the Studio Beza Projekt, known for implementing bold custom-designed projects. One projects will feature a new idea involving sliced angles (Patch by Beza), which will allow for the construction of spontaneous structures. Beza’s project will be showcased on the platform Meet My Project (MMP). The main idea of MMP is to create a series of elements that become tools for creation or design by anyone. Educational aspects of the project are hoping to have a wide range as MMP will try to serve as a meeting point between designers and potential investors to develop the projects and pave the way for large-scale implementation.
The Monomoka projects will be shown at the Maison & Objet fair under the section Scenes d’Interieur 2013. Monomoka is a team of twin sisters who design unique furniture. They were invited to participate in the fair after enormous success of their hive and artichoke submissions to the International Furniture Fair in Singapore. Their objects are hand-knitted poufs with forms referring to creations from nature. The groups projects are fine examples of intricate handicrafts created with passion and without compromise.

The programme organised to promote Polish design plans a greater presence at key international events in coming months: Paris Design Week, London Design Festival, HKTDC Inno Design Tech Expo in Hong Kong and design-industry fairs in New York City. Aiming to build awareness of the strong Polish brands and active young designers, these programmes represent a broad expanse of objects that are both innovative and intricately crafted. Their products are the result of a thoughtful creative process of the highest quality.
The programme will reach an apex in September 2013 and, with the support of the Adam Mickiewicz Institute, exhibitions will be held at major design centres in London, Paris and New York City. Also planned are new publications: the Polish Design Uncut album will present Polish design after 2000 and Print Control will focus on graphic design. A special supplement will be devoted to Polish designers in Wallpaper, the influential magazine.
