The Polish folk duo Paula & Karol performed at Pera Museum in Istanbul on December 19. Audiences were thrilled with new sound from Poland.
Paula & Karol made their first LP Goodnight Warsaw in early 2010 and later that year they released their first studio album Overshare with Lado ABC, which was hailed by fans and the media as a great discovery on the Polish music scene.
The Guardian included Paula & Karol on their World Sound recommendations in early 2011, reiterating critic Lukasz Kamiński's (of Polish daily Gazeta Wyborcza) appraisal of the group as 'superheroes' that are leading the alternative scene in Poland.
Also on the 19th of December, there will be a funk & dance party by Polish funk collective Soul Service DJs at Arkaoda. Click to view event details.
Previously at the Pera Museum, as part of another concert series titled Young Wednesday, performances by Marcin Masecki and Soniamiki thrilled Turkish music lovers. This year in the series were also featured Drekoty on 17 September, Mikroelektyw on 24 September and SzaZa on 28 November, 2014.
The event is organized as part of the 2014 project celebrating the 600th anniversary of Polish-Turkish diplomatic and cultural relations. View our events calendar at: http://turkiye.culture.pl/en/events
