The Oxymoron of Normality project is a result of the artistic cooperation between Polish and Turkish artists, exibiting at two venues - Arsenał Gallery in Bialystok (curated by Monika Szewczyk) and later this fall DEPO in Istanbul. Artists Jadwiga Sawicka, Anna Konik, Oskar Dawicki, Hubert Czerepok, Franciszek Orłowski, Piotr Wysocki and Marek Wasilewski represent the Polish side, while the Turkish group features Can Altay, Fatma Bucak, Hera Büyüktaşcıyan and Ali Taptik.
Part 1: Arsenał Gallery in Białystok
Arsenał Gallery in Białystok hosts the first part of the exhibition between 13 June - 10 August, 2014 in Białystok, Poland. Curated by Monika Szewczyk, works of Piotr Wysocki and Zbigniew Libera are also exhibited as part of Arsenał Gallery's permanent collection.
Part 2: Istanbul Exhibition17 October - 30 November, 2014
The experience of remote-ness, being Europen and non-European at the same time will also constitute the subject of the Istanbul exhibition, which will run from 17th October to 30th November 2014 at the DEPO Cultural Center. The DEPO Cultural Center in Istanbul is a platform supporting collaboration between artists, cultural and social organizations from Turkey, the South Caucasus, the Middle East and the Balkans.
