NeoQuartet is a string quartet focused on performing contemporary classical music made up of: Karolina Piątkowska-Nowicka (1st violin), Paweł Kapica (2nd violin), Michał Markiewicz (viola) and Krzysztof Pawłowski (cello). The quartet is one of the most active European ensembles aiming to collaborate with contemporary composers and tmake their music familiar to the wider audience. NeoQuartet's repertoire includes compositions by Steve Reich, George Crumb, Alfred Schnittke and Krzysztof Penderecki to name a few. Moreover, pieces by several young composers were premiered by this ensemble. The quartet's discography includes recordings of works by Agnieszka Stulgińska, Aleksander Lasoń, Toshio Hosokawa, Guus Janssen, Joanna Bruzdowicz, Dosia Mckay and Aleksander Kościów.
Since 2011, NeoQuartet is the organiser of the NeoArte Synthesizer of Arts Festival, gathering renowned composers, artists and young talented musicians to provide a new musical perspective of our times. The first edition of this annual event took place in October 2012 in Sopot, Poland, featuring great Polish composer Paweł Szymański as the guest of honor. NeoQuartet has also established NeoArte Association who regularly commissions works from Polish and foreign composers. The list of composers who dedicated their compositions to NeoQuartet already includes: Sławomir Kupczak, Jakub Polaczyk, Bohdan Sehin, Aleksander Kościów, Oleksij Shmurak, Jerzy Kornowicz, Agnieszka Stulgińska, Marek Czerniewicz, Dariusz Przybylski, and Gabriel Paiuk.
