Stories and walks that never completely ended, actions and looks that continue to resurface and intertwine. Leszek Bzdyl and Katarzyna Chmielewska’s dance performance shows how what was present vanishes and comes back under a different form, what was noticed became rejected and what was rejcted comes back with great impact. Their duet builds upon Jean Baudrillard’s existential book Why Hasn't Everything Already Disappeared? They call it a replica, a recycled work, a reemergence of what remained unsaid, Non-existent Duets / Duety Nieistniejące picks up what remains from Bzdyl and Chmielewska’s 2002 duet Magnolia.
Considered one of the most original dance groups in Poland, Dada von Bzdülöw has produced around 40 performances since its foundation in 1993. Their performances are grounded in the "here and now" and demand the presence of mind and participation of the audience. When the viewer takes part in the process of creation, the performance becomes "inconsumable". In an interview for DanceDesk, Bzdyl says "when you call something ‘Dada Theatre’ in writing, Dada becomes something completely different in the next performance". Their performances always remain “unclosed” and ready to be reopened during the next performance.
Actor, choreographer, dancer, cofounder of Dada, Leszek Bzdyl, has been present on Polish scenes since 1987. Katarzyna Chmielewska (born 1974), the other cofounder, is also a dancer, choreographer and dance teacher. She graduated from the Ballett School in Gdańsk and studiem further in the Brussels P.A.R.T.S academy. She has worked with Melisa Monteros,
Avi Kaiser, Tatiana Baganowa,Roberto Olivan, Chihar Mamiya-Jędrzejewska.
