Adam Zagajewski is to join Polish Studies at Cambridge's Trinity College for an evening of his poetry. Zagajewski will read a selection of poems, followed by questions and answers panel.
The novelist, essayist, laureate of many prestigious literary awards, including the recent Heinrich Mann Prize, will meet an audience at Trinity College on 28th April, 2015.
The evening of poetry with “Poland’s greatest living poet” will commence with Zagajewski reading a selection of his poems and will be followed by a discussion panel and a presentation of a prize for the best translation of a Polish poem into English by a student of Polish Studies at Cambridge. Antonia Lloyd-Jones, an acclaimed translator of Polish literature and one of the competition judges, will speak about the challenges of literary translation.
The event, co-organised by Polish Cultural Institute in London, will take place at Trinity College's Winstanley Lecture Theatre in the centre of Cambridge.
