"3 days of Chopin", organised by the National Chopin Institute, features concerts, spectacles, film screenings and exhibitions dedicated to and inspired by Fryderyk Chopin. Events take place throughout the morning, afternoon and evening at the Grand Theatre - National Opera House, the Warsaw Philharmonic and the Royal Castle.
The programme features some of the most striking and innovative performances of the 2011 Chopin Year, from the Białostock Puppet Theatre's Chopin Impression, Maria Pomianowska's Chopin on 5 Continents, Chopin Acapella performed by the Voice Factory student group and Krzysztof Penderecki's latest work: "Powiało na mnie morze snów... - pieśni zadumy i nostalgii" / "A Sea of Dreams Rushed Over Me - Songs of Reflection and Nostalgia.The President of the Republic of Poland, Bronisław Komorowski has taken Honourary Patronage over the event.

11:30 Chopin Impression - Białostock Puppet Theatre
The world premiere of the spectacle combining the form of a theatre essay with live music. Directed by Leslaw Piecka, the show presents a poetic rendition of Chopin's life and performing skills. The role of the composer is played by a wooden puppet virtuously controlled by Zbigniew Romanyk, the marionette's maker and puppeteer.
13:00 Little Chopin - Konsekwentny Theatre
Inspired by the poem Little Chopin" / "Mały Chopin by Michał Rusinek. Contemporary Polish language is used as connotations to define, illustrate and explain musical terms and the creative process of some of Chopin's most famous pieces. An interactive an entertaining show directed by Jurek Łazewski featuring Antek Barłowski.

Maria Pomianowska and the Polski Group perform Chopin compositions with the us of instruments from the ethnic world, combining classical and folk music.

18:00 Chopin at the Castle (Royal Castle in Warsaw)
Chopin recital by Janusz Olejniczak, who will play on an Erard piano from 1838. The performance is the first presentation of the historical instrument purchased by the Polish National Fryderyk Chopin Institute in November, 2010.

Polish premiere of the brand new composition by Huques Dufourt, performed by singer Nadine Denize and pianist Maciej Pikulski, commissioned by the Polish Library in Paris.

The band Voice Factory, composed of students of the Music Academy in Wrocław performing some of Chopin's most outstanding compositions.
