Ryczek's Swans Win in New York
A famous photo by Marcin Ryczek has won The Last Picture Show competition at the New York Photo Festival.
A Man Feeding Swans in the Snow is a photo you probably recognise. Shortly after Ryczek published it on a Facebook profile, the photo became a viral hit. It was appreciated both by the public and professionals, who bequeathed him awards in competitions such as LensCulture and The Chelsea International Fine Art Competition. Winning the Fine Art category at The Last Picture Show in New York on 20th November is yet another success for the photo.
The New York Photo Festival was established in 2007 as an American festival devoted to the future of contemporary photography. The jury for The Last Picture Show was made up of exceptional American photographers. There were two more Poles in the finals of the competition: Rafał Olejniczak in the Fine Art category and Patryk Karbowski in the Photo Book category. The exhibition presenting the finalists' works is on display at The POWERHOUSE Arena in New York until the end of November 2015.
