9 Design Must-Haves for 2016
Every October, the international Łódź Design Festival showcases the very latest industrial, graphic or fashion ideas. This year, the event operates under the one-word slogan Consequences, which refers to the influence that technological, social and cultural change has on the manufacturing of objects.
One of the highlights of the festival is the must have poll, where designers and manufacturers can submit their most interesting projects of the last four years. Out of the winning selection, Culture.pl has selected 9 outstanding items likely to become ubiquitous in 2016.
1. MODERN Cups
A cup inspired by the shapes of modern, geometric buildings. If you happen to live or work in one, you can have a cup to go with it.
2. Woolet Wallet
With this bad boy you don’t have to worry about forgetting your wallet anymore. It’ll make a faithful, barking sound when your smartphone drifts too far away from it.
3. Leaning Bench
The phrase take a seat just gained a whole new meaning. You can take this bench and rest it basically on any wall, making yourself a comfy seat that way.
4. Vice Clocks
When it’s nut time, you can use these clocks as nutcrackers.
5. Duch Hammock
A very light and highly durable hammock. Just looking at it makes you feel relaxed, so resting in it must be very pleasant indeed.
6. Ewit Sinks
A series of simple and elegant kitchen sinks. Washing the dishes isn’t particularly enjoyable but at least you’ll be doing it in a very nice sink if you get one of these.
7. PACKMAN Chairs
A system of office chairs and sofas that can easily bring a bit of joy to the hearts of those, who remember the legendary, stone-age video game.
This app serves as a guide to Paris, thanks to which you can explore the city through the eyes of such legendary artists as Edith Piaf or Pablo Picasso. If you identify with the words ‘non, je ne regrette rien’, installing this app shouldn’t change that – it looks to be a great piece of software.
9. Solemaran Siesta
Its creators call it a beach catamaran. A great choice for those who like aquatic leisure but aren’t crazy about crowded shorelines.
